My First Time Hosting: Ray Antrobus & James Massiah at Wimbledon BookFest

I am so honoured to be part of this year’s Wimbledon Book Festival, where I will be hosting a conversation between two artists I have admired for a long time, Raymond Antrobus and James Massiah.
As someone who has always loved reading and finds deep inspiration in poetry, being involved in a festival that celebrates literature and ideas means a lot to me. To be hosting for the very first time and with such incredible guests feels both surreal and exciting.
Raymond’s work continues to move me. His poetry, which explores identity, deafness and language, holds such power and depth; and James brings a bold, fearless energy to everything he creates, his voice, rhythm and reflections always challenge and expand the conversation. I can’t wait to hear them together on stage.
It’s also a true privilege to work alongside Fiona Razvi and her wonderful team at Wimbledon Book Festival. Their dedication to creating a thoughtful, inclusive and vibrant space for stories and voices is something I deeply respect and I’m grateful to be contributing to it in this way.
This moment is such a special one for me, combining my love of literature, my commitment to platforming meaningful voices and stepping into something new. I’m so looking forward to the event and to sharing it with everyone attending.
