Shine Photography Exhibition 2022
Shine Exhibition 2022

This year, I launched the Shine Camera Club at Shine Saturday School in Mitcham, a local community project founded by Kristina Burton as part of Mitcham Town Community Trust. After being introduced to Kristina by a mutual friend, she invited me to teach a one-off photography class for the wonderful children at Shine. That one-off class has now become an annual workshop.

The aim of Shine Camera Club is to teach children the basics of photography using analogue film cameras, encouraging them to stop, look, and capture the world through their own eyes. Over four weeks, the children explore portraiture, still life, and street photography. Each child uses a 35mm point-and-shoot camera, which they keep to continue their photography journey.

The children’s best photos are developed and exhibited at Elys in Wimbledon during the Wimbledon Championships, with this year’s exhibition curated by industry professional Jennie Rickett. I am really proud to launch the first children's photographt exhibition this year in Wimbledon.
